CANTEX Improves Website to Meet Americans with Disabilities Act Standards
February, 2025
CANTEX recently made changes to our website in order to achieve ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliancy. In addition to helping the disabled with these added website features, ADA compliancy also significantly improves Google search results for websites, since Google now penalizes sites that are not compliant with low search visibility. Google also rewards websites for good user experience including ADA compliancy features with improved Search Engine Optimization.
Website improvements included improving features like color contrast and heading and text readability and adding image and video captions. Other enhancements helped make the website’s navigation more compatible with disability assistance technology. Additionally, all PDFs have been tagged with appropriate meta data for disability screen reading software. All of these changes will help insure that people with certain disabilities have the same access to valuable information about PVC electrical products like PVC Pipe, fittings and electrical boxes as everyone else.
ADA compliancy, along with some other website performance upgrades, has significantly improved our organic website traffic. Performance upgrades that affected our organic search results included updating images, updating platform features to the next-gen format, fixing lazy load pages, updating caching, and improving screen responsiveness for some website elements.
