TED Magazine Reports: CANTEX Publishes EPD for Full PVC Product Line
May, 2025
IN THE NEWS:
FORT WORTH, Texas – CANTEX Inc. proudly announces the successful completion of its Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for its entire PVC electrical product line, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to sustainability, transparency, and environmental responsibility. An EPD is a comprehensive, third-party-verified document that details a product’s environmental impact across its full life cycle—from raw material extraction to manufacturing, use, and eventual disposal. It includes key environmental indicators such as greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption, water usage, and overall resource use.
EPDs are based on Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), which evaluate the environmental impacts at every stage of a product’s existence. The CANTEX EPD presents a detailed, independently verified LCA of all their extruded and molded PVC electrical products, including pipe, elbows, fittings, and boxes. It provides clear data on all of their products’ carbon footprints and environmental performance from cradle to grave.
“CANTEX is dedicated to driving innovation with accountability, and the publication of our EPD reflects a major step forward in our sustainability efforts,” said David Gwinn, the Quality & Technical Services Manager for CANTEX.
This milestone not only advances CANTEX’s commitment to environmental stewardship, it also empowers CANTEX customers to meet their sustainability goals—particularly for projects pursuing LEED and other green building certifications. The third-party verification of the EPD further enhances trust in the environmental transparency of CANTEX’s full product line.
CANTEX EPDs are publicly available on the Smart EPD website at www.smartepd.com. To access the documentation, simply search for “CANTEX” in the EPD Library to find resources for CANTEX PVC electrical conduit, fittings, boxes, and accessories.
